I've been in the film industry for over thirty-five years — starting out shooting news on 16mm film and working through the full transition to digital. My background spans documentaries, special interest programmes, commercials and television drama, and it's TV drama , feature films and select documentaries where I mostly work today. It's been a career that's taken me through some pretty significant changes in how we tell stories and how we carry cameras.

About seventeen years ago, after nearly breaking my body doing so much handheld work on documentaries, I got my first Easyrig. At the time there were barely three or four in all of New Zealand. I struck up a great friendship with Johan at Easyrig, and we started chatting about Johan refining their designs which he would send to me for field testing and feedback— which in turn led me to become the New Zealand agent. From there, Easyrig became the go-to on nearly every TV and film set in the country, which naturally led to bringing Flowcine, Blackbird Cine, and others on board. My passion is straightforward: supply equipment that protects camera operators' bodies so they can have long, healthy careers. That's what drives Tadpole every day — and I genuinely love helping people find the right rig for their needs.
